Obiettivi: La ricerca proposta delinea una possibile traiettoria di definizione spaziale per il progetto della fabbrica in relazione ad una serie di dinamiche urbane, economiche e socio-ambientali rilevanti, proponendo una transizione da produzione 4.0 ad una forma di wise work, in una prospettiva secondo cui le aree produttive divengano cardini di urbanità. Metodologia: L’approccio analitico adottato mira ad individuare possibili traiettorie di sviluppo progettuale a partire dallo studio dei caratteri dell’industria novecentesca e delle trasformazioni che interessano la produzione 4.0. Risultati: Si auspica dunque la concezione di spazi del lavoro intesi come campo di sperimentazione per costruire nuove prospettive a livello sociale, spaziale e ambientale tramite una ricucitura degli spazi disgregati dall’espansione urbana e produttiva del XX secolo. Originalità: Focalizzandosi sulle aree urbane marginali, la ricerca mira dunque a descrivere il futuro del lavoro ripensando il ruolo dell’uomo nella creazione delle società del domani.

Purpose: The research outlines a possible trajectory for a spatial definition of factory projects, in relation to a series of relevant urban, economic and socio-environmental dynamics, proposing a transition from production 4.0 to a wise form work, in a perspective where production areas become cornerstones of urbanity. Methodology: The analytical approach adopted aims to identify a possible design development starting from the study of the characteristics of the twentieth-century industry and the transformations affecting smart production. Findings: Therefore, the work spaces are taken in analysis as a field of experimentation to build new perspectives on a social, spatial and environmental level through a mending of the spaces disrupted by the urban and productive expansion of the twentieth century. Originality: By focusing on marginal urban areas, the research lastly seeks to describe the future of work by rethinking the role of humans in creating the societies of tomorrow.
